St. Mary’s Franciscan Shelter for Homeless Families
Recently our staff was invited to a testimonial dinner arranged by our partner agency, Open Hearth, Inc. The festivities were planned to celebrate the accomplishments of families in their savings program– FSP. Several Shelter “graduates” were among those celebrated.
The Shelter was well represented among the honorees:

One honoree was a former resident I’ll call Daisy. She had successfully saved money to start her own enterprise.
•
Another former resident had saved for a newer and bigger vehicle.
•
A third former resident had saved for her schooling and a replacement vehicle. She had also been informed that she was eligible for a house through Habitat for Humanity, thereby becoming homeowner number five from among our former residents.
